Deer Control

Deer prevention has become a major problem for many businesses and homeowners throughout North America. All species of deer, but especially the Whitetail, have made a dramatic comeback as they have adapted to suburban life. Deer poputlations are at record levels, well above the levels sustained 200 years ago.
Predators have been nearly eliminated and urban sprawl has led to an ever-increasing habitat in which deer thrive. Deer damage primarily occurs to landscaping plants, trees and gardens. There are two basic methods of controlling deer in a suburban setting: deer fence and deer repellents. Deer Fencing is often used for garden plots and to enclose backyards. If it is properly installed it is nearly invisible from a distance. Most deer repellents don't work for long. The main categories are putrescent (rotten eggs) and pepper based (hot cayenne pepper). Both of these approaches are taste based and the local deer gradually get used to the taste. We provide Deer Scram, which is not taste based but fear-instict based. It creates an instinctive fear response that is "hard-wired" into the deer. The deer never get used to Deer Scram.
